Hi! My name is Jessica Mueller. And I am here to share my testimony with you:

I have always lived in a Christian home and gone to Church almost every single Sunday. But I met Jesus for the first time when I was six or seven.

A very extremely sad event in my family turned into God dancing on His Great Dance Floor. “And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love Him who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  In the midst of my dad’s cousin dying from cancer, God was working it into good and a great change in my life!

Seeing the peace in Danette as she was dying made me wonder what was “wrong” with her. I remember asking her why she was happy while being so sick. She told me that she knew the joy of the Lord was her strength. That gave me incredible peace and strength in the weeks and months ahead.

I remember coming home from school one day in first grade  to find my dad was home—early. When I found both of my parents in the kitchen crying I knew something was wrong. My dad then told me that Danette had died that afternoon. I then ran into my mom’s arms and cried until nothing was left.

Danette had died leaving five young children behind. The oldest only being 11.

That Sunday a very good song was played at Church—Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone). One verse has always spoken to me and always will:   

My chains are gone

I've been set free

My God, my Savior has ransomed me

And like a flood His mercy rains

Unending love, Amazing grace

Danette’s chains were free from life and mine were fee from sin—Christ had forgiven me. I was now a Child of God.

God worked a tragedy into a joy. Danette’s death brought me to Christ and forgiveness. Danette also brought music into my life. I remember sitting on her floor watching, listening, and singing along to her and her husband play their guitars. Her love for music brought a love for music into my life.

Today I live every ounce of my life for Christ. Even though I am young I have become a leader and love Christ with everything. I now even lead a Middle School Small Group. 1 Timothy 4:12 says: “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
